Jyr-Jong Lin
Introduction
Professor Jyr-Jong Lin graduated from Law Department, National Taiwan University in 2005. After graduation, he entered the Graduate School of Law, National Taiwan University, focusing on the Fundamental Law Theory group and obtained his Master’s degree in 2009, with a thesis titled "Law, Acceptance, and the Justification of Action." Following his Master’s degree, he served as a adjunct assistant for the National Science and Technology Council projects from 2006, later becoming a full-time assistant for the Law Empirical Database Construction Project from 2010 to 2011, accumulating substantial academic research experience.
In 2011, Professor Lin received a government scholarship for overseas study from the Ministry of Education, pursuing further studies in the UK. During this time, he was awarded the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship in 2015 and obtained his Ph.D. in Law from the University of Cambridge in 2022, with a dissertation titled "Power-Conferring Norms and Law's Normative Guidance." After earning his doctorate, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institutum Iurisprudentiae, Academia Sinica, from 2022 to 2023 and continues in this role from 2023 to 2024, focusing on academic research.
Professor Lin's main research areas include Anglo-American analytical jurisprudence, constitutional jurisprudence, and political philosophy. His journal articles have been published in important national academic journals such as the "Academia Sinica Law Journal" and "Societas: A Journal for Philosophical Study of Public Affairs," and he has been invited to present papers at significant academic conferences both domestically and internationally. He is also actively involved in academic service, having served as a speaker and facilitator for institutions including Academia Sinica, the Taiwan Jurisprudence Association, National Chengchi University, and the National Taiwan University’s Continuing Education and Extension School.
